I made this for my Mom's friend at work, Olivia. Her sons have a fort I beleive in their yard.. so they needed to keep out the girls! ha!


I think it turned out pretty cute. She wanted Sabres colors.

Name Change Again?

So with some new business coming in, and an upcoming craft fair! (my first one!) I have been looking at designing some business cards, and crafty tags to pass out and attach to my art..

With that said I've come up with a few new names, and am thinking of changing the name of the blogsite..

Anyone who's reading this, can you change the website address? or once its in place.. joellescrafts.blogspot.com.. is that forever????

Here are the names I am thinking of changing it to:

Artologie
Craftologie

I just think it looks nicer written out on tags/cards.
I can always leave it at 3rd Floor Art, but I am experimenting and taking in feedback or any ideas.

But I would like feedback, for whoever is reading....

Please let me know what you think! Im leaning towards Craftologie.

Vanilla Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting

Here it is! This is from TidyMom's Blog.. I cannot take credit for thinking this delicious recipe up. I waanted to "test" and make sure they were good for Thanksgiving. They are amazing...



Vanilla Pumpkin Cupcakes

1 Box Betty Crocker Super Moist French Vanilla cake mix
1 pkg. Jello Instant Pumpkin Spice pudding mix
1 cup sour cream
1 cup softened butter
4 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice

Preheat oven to 350° F. In a large bowl mix all ingredients, batter will be very thick.

Bake cupcakes 23 mins (test with toothpick)
*my first batch of cupcakes fell - not sure why because I don't think they could have baked any longer - but they still tasted great and you couldn't tell with the frosting on top!

Cinnamon Buttercream Frosting

1 cup real butter (softened)
1 cup vegetable shortening
1 pinch of salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream

In a mixing bowl, blend butter and shortening until smooth. Add a pinch of salt, vanilla and cinnamon. Continue mixing until well blended. Gradually add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Eventually you will have a very thick gooey mixture. On the highest speed of your mixer, stream in the heavy whipping cream- pour nice and slow.
Continue beating on high speed until frosting is fluffy.

For our favorite International Baby!

This is a canvas bag I made for our favorite international baby.. Lucy! It was so great to see one of our good friends Lori this summer at SJM's birthday bash. Lori and I were pregnant at the same time, and had our first babies within 2 months of each other.

This was part of Lovely Lucy's birthday gift when she was visiting the states this summer.

Samantha Jane Party Prep!

I am working on a lot of little cute decorations for sjm's First birthday bash in a few weeks.. here is a look at some things I made last night.

Two wooden "S"'s..and a pink large clothes pin, which I am going to display her invite on the cake/gift table with.

Im trying to follow the decor that matches her invite, and theme of her new room (plans are in my head) haha..

Jillian's Frame

I made this frame for my cousin Jillian. It doesnt say anything on it, she's still thinking about what she wants it to say.

I just used some zebra patterned paper for the inside, until she fills it with a pic =)

Canvas Bag

Well my adorable cousin's daughter received her gift, so I can post this without ruining anything... ha!

Custom Bow Hangers

I made this bow hanger for Samantha so I can remember to put bows in her hair! The Main decoration is wood painted and the decor are just ribbons! I adhere the thick ribbon to the back of the wood on the top to hang and the bottom where you display your pretty ribbons!

I made these cute little zebra monogram cards to give out to people whenever Samantha gets presents! Good Lord this child is loved! She gets gifts all the time and I am so thankful & wanted to have special thank you's ready to go, so I came up with these.



Im working on several projects - a stool, blessing rings, My Pregnancy/Samantha Scrapbook, and a Chalkboard Plate.... pics to come, as soon as I get all my supplies!
